Once discovered by the Phoenicians, and later conquered by Rome and Portugal, the city of Essaouira (formerly known as Mogador) has a rich and fascinating history. By the end of the 15th century, the Portuguese had built a commercial and military port that still stands today at the foot of the city’s fortified walls.

From the terrace of the northern bastion, enjoy views of the marquetry district, where master artisans work with cedarwood. Walking through Derb Laalouj, you’ll reach the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah Museum, home to a unique collection of Andalusian musical instruments, traditional weapons, costumes, and more.

Explore the Mellah, the historic Jewish quarter in the northern part of the city, and wander along Mohammed Zerktouni Street, which leads to a vibrant market extending toward Bab Doukkala.

Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch (Essaouira specialty) at a seaside restaurant.

On the way to Essaouira, you’ll pass through vast fields of argan trees, famous for producing argan oil, used in both cooking and cosmetics. You may even see goats climbing the trees—a unique sight! The tour also includes a stop at a women’s cooperative that produces authentic argan oil.
